Bio Shetland

BC Garn's Bio Shetland is a beautiful woolen-spun, 100% organic wool yarn which is dyed using commercial synthetic dyes and the most eco-friendly dye practices, as certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). Each beautiful colourway features a dynamic mix of colours, some with small flecks of contrasting colours offering the feeling of a subtle tweed. Designed for colourwork knitting, this rustic, low-loft yarn is also great for weft-faced tapestry woven at 12 ends-per-inch, or held double woven at 6-8 ends-per-inch.

For use in weaving with my Weave an Everlea Gradient, Colour in Tapestry or Weave a Sunset workshops choose two or more different five-colour groupings of colourways.

I offer Bio Shetland in 7g bobbins or 50g skeins.

Versatile

Use Bio Shetland yarn alongside Everlea Fingering for even more dynamic gradients.

Rustic

Bio Shetland has a rustic charm that lends itself to structural handwork like tapestry weaving and sweater knitting. It softens up substantially when hand washed or fulled.

Organic

Bio Shetland is organic, as certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard. Learn more.

Dynamic Reds and Dynamic Greens

These two gradient bundles of Bio Shetland are both dynamic gradients, offering colours outside of the original hue (ie ending a green gradient with a yellow). Dynamic groupings offer painterly effect to colour transitions.
